Creative, action and performance artist, stage researcher, educator and cultural manager. He holds a degree in Performing Arts and is specialized in Museology and Contemporary Art. In 2009, he founded Abierto de Acción, a platform for the practice, study and dissemination of performance, fostering collaboration between public and private entities across various cities. He directs cultural projects, curates exhibitions and gives lectures, courses and creative workshops.

His artistic work has been presented at meetings, festivals and art centers throughout the country. Internationally, he has been awarded a grant by the EEA Grants of the Royal Norwegian Embassy (Oslo), selected by the International Performance Biennial (Bogotá) and by the Latin American Art Biennial at the Bronx Museum (New York), among other venues.

His involvement in social and political art, with projects on migration, borders and human rights, is articulated through the [1668] Project together with Mario Gutiérrez Cru, which they develop both nationally and internationally.

He practices stage research from a performative perspective and intervenes in the fields of painting, photography, installation and assemblage.

As for written expression, he has received mentions and awards in various literary contests. The most recent was in 2023, with the XV Premio Alzabara for short story in La Vaguada (Cartagena).

DECLARATION

I use my sensory experience as a line of artistic experimentation through natural and everyday elements. I seek maximum expression by investing minimal resources. I resort to simplifying the installation and the materials, adapting my language to the spaces where the actions take place, so that each work becomes an exciting puzzle where the audience or participants often hold the final key.

My body becomes the support and expressive medium for the action, from which to convey dreamlike or metaphysical atmospheres. When I focus on the present moment, my interest lies in the ethical and aesthetic act required by performance as I conceive it.

I am interested in works whose aim goes beyond the final piece, the plastic development, aesthetic finish or media impact, emphasizing the creative process as the basis for personal growth.

The themes on which I develop my artistic discourse derive from human behavior and its implications: perception, communication, energy, emotional and therapeutic performance art, socio-political art, migration and borders, among others.

My work unfolds in the field of social action and the poetics of conceptual art, marked by the subtlety of gesture, naturalness and emotional depth, with the aim of provoking collective reflections and feelings.

TRAJECTORY

Teacher certified with CAP by the University of Murcia. Graduate in Performing Arts from the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Murcia and Specialist in Museology and Contemporary Art from the University of Alicante.

Since 2009, he has directed the International Performance Festival ABIERTO DE ACCIÓN, a platform that promotes the practice, research and dissemination of performance and other experimental languages. His projects have been funded by the Ministry of Culture since 2012. Abierto de Acción was selected as one of the “Top 10 Valued Projects” by the Ministry of Culture’s “Grants for Cultural Action and Promotion” in 2018, encompassing projects with annual development.

His research work in social and political art is developed through [1668], a collective formed together with Mario Gutiérrez Cru, with interventions and exhibitions in different cities and countries. He has coordinated the research group El Paréntesis del Tiempo developed for CENDEAC. As a stage researcher, he has participated in various works such as La Historia de la Performance with Sergio Muro and Lucio Cruces, Espacio Disponible with Celia Nadal and Javier Manzanera, or Soledad, premiered in 2016 at Centro Párraga and updated in 2018 with a creative residency at the Auditorio Municipal Miguel Ángel Clares in Algezares (Murcia).

His artistic work has been developed in public spaces, museums, art and cultural centers in various cities across the country. Internationally, his work has been exhibited and developed in Ashila (Morocco), Bogotá (Colombia), Brussels (Belgium), Coimbra (Portugal), Fjallsarlón (Iceland), Lisbon (Portugal), Linz (Austria), London (United Kingdom), Marseille (France), Milan (Italy), New York (USA), Oslo (Norway), Porto (Portugal), and the Peloponnese region (Greece).

He has been selected for the 5th and 6th International Performance Biennial PerfoArtNet (Bogotá 2016–18), as well as for the 4th Latin American Art Biennial of the Bronx, Bronx Museum (New York 2015). He received the international grant from EEA Grants of the Royal Norwegian Embassy (Oslo 2014). Awarded a grant by Fundación CEPAIM “Art and Social Improvement 2015” and by the Alicante City Council in the “II International Call for Exhibition Projects 2017.” Selected in the 7th Salón de la Crítica AMUCA among others.

He has coordinated public space interventions for the Instituto de Creación Contemporánea, ARTJAÉN, and curated the Solo_Performance cycle at Centro Párraga. In 2014, together with Carlos Cegarra, he founded the urgent stage creation project TEATRO EN 24 Horas, in collaboration with cultural institutions such as ESAD, Fundación CajaMurcia, Cuartel de Artillería and Teatro Circo de Murcia. He has participated with projects in MURAM, Festival Mucho Más Mayo and La Noche de los Museos in Cartagena. He developed the project LAK Laboratorio de Akcion in collaboration with the Consorcio de Museos de la Generalitat Valenciana, MACA and Las Cigarreras in Alicante. Other institutions such as AC/E, Ministry of Culture and Sport, Fundación Cruzcampo, ICA, AccionMAD!, Matadero Madrid, Artix and Festival Out of Mind in Zaragoza, as well as the Culture Departments of Murcia, Alicante, Orihuela, Elche, El Ejido, Cartagena, San Javier, Jaén, Málaga and Zaragoza among others, have organized activities and hosted his creative workshops. He has also collaborated with alternative or private spaces such as La Muralla B-Art, Murcia Vintage, Espacio Progreso 80, La Azotea, El Quirófano, La Madriguera and Ateneo Los Pájaros.

As a writer, he was awarded in 2023 in the literary contest XV Premio Alzabara, granted by the Asociación de Mujeres de La Vaguada (Cartagena), with the short story Aguardo.
