POLYPHEM (Polifemo)

POLYPHEM is the second chapter in a series of landscape short films that reinterpret the different stages of the journey recounted in Homer’s Odyssey, relocating them within the context of the Anthropocene. Loosely inspired by the myth of Polyphemus, the film uses the red colour of bauxite residue as a metaphor for the wound and threat caused by human intervention.

POLYPHEM takes us on a vertiginous journey through a landscape that is both sublime and deeply scarred, where myth and modernity intertwine and beauty emerges from destruction, transforming devastation into visual poetry.
