Elena Peña
Communication, PROYECTOR Staff
Communication and Social Media Coordinator
I am a journalist specialising in the area of culture and the application of the gender perspective.
My professional career began at RTVE and Interviú where I learned from the best professionals in our country what journalism really is. After graduating, I moved to Santiago de Chile in search of professional and personal challenges and shortly after settling in I joined the international communications team of Batalla de los Gallos at Red Bull Media House, which was a great challenge at all levels. I travelled throughout South America, developed myself in the field of performing arts and learned to work independently. I returned to Madrid to pursue a career as a freelance professional and did my postgraduate training, specialising in the area of culture and gender studies.
Since then I have worked in a multidisciplinary way carrying out communication campaigns in performing arts, social media management, editing and content writing. I am also a teaching coordinator of workshops for the application of the gender perspective in culture. Some of my clients have been Rave Market arte urbano, Cultproject, a communication and culture agency, Comunidad de Madrid, Teatros del Canal and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
My role in the PROYECTOR Festival is to spread our initiative to the public and lead the communication strategy through different media, channels and supports, to publicise the festival’s network of international video creators as well as the different venues where you can view the audiovisual pieces and attend the project’s workshops and lectures.
