OPEN CALL VERTICAL <25 [2026]

Who can participate? 
Emerging artist and/or groups up to 25 years of age 
International call 

What can you apply with? 

Single channel experimental videoart
Vertical format, regardless of the device used (digital camera, analogue, mobile phone…) 

The artwork must have been made between 2025-2026 must have a recommended duration of 5 minutes maximum A maximum of 1 work per artist or group can be sent 

Free theme 

Any language is admitted, although preferably subtitled in Spanish and/or English. 

Award 

The artist who has created the highest-rated work will develop a work during August 2027 in a residency with a €3,000 award

Also, an edition of the awarded artwork (the one presented to this call) will be part of the Hertzog Da Silva Collection, sponsor of this call. 

How can you apply? 

To be able to participate in the call, this inscription form must be completed and submitted, plus the video must be published before April 30th (included), in an Instagram account (the account must be open), tagging @proyector_videoartplatform and using the hashtag #PROYECTORVERTICAL25

How is the winner artwork selected? 

The winning piece will be chosen by La Llave Colectiva, a (in)disciplinary collective of emerging artists/curators composed of Adrián M Abellán, Violeta Rezola, Nacho González and María Andrada Cámara.

Selected artworks will be exhibited at the PROYECTOR Festival 2026! 

A 30 minute selection will be made by PROYECTOR & La Llave team and be screened as part of the PROYECTOR 2026 Festival program (September 9-20, 2026) at a unique event dedicated to VERTICAL<25 call held at OBLIQUO (C/ Valencia, 17, 28012 Madrid), where also the awarded-video artwork will be announced. Those interested will be notified by email with the details of the event. 

Disqualified artworks 

In case that the submitted piece does not meet the requirements, the artist will be contacted by email once the call is closed, indicating the incident. Once the author is contacted, he/she will have e a maximum of 7 days to submit another proposal that meets the conditions. If a delivery has not been made after this deadline, the proposal will be disqualified. 

Data of interest 

Submitting a proposal implies that the artist authorizes the screening of the artwork by the means that PROYECTOR considers for their dissemination. The copyright on the artwork submitted is exclusive property of the artist who is the author of the work, who allows its exhibition and dissemination if selected by PROYECTOR. The screenings and events will always be free of charge. 

PROYECTOR has its own audiovisual equipment and sponsorship resources for the display of the artwork presented. 

Submitting a proposal implies the acceptance of these requirements and any aspect not contemplated in these regulations will be resolved by PROYECTOR.
