Jorge Varela (Allariz, Ourense, 1971) is a visual artist, Doctor and Graduate in History from the University of Vigo and University Specialist in Contemporary Art and Criticism from the University of Santiago de Compostela.

He has worked as a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires.

His work has been exhibited at the MACUF, A Coruña (Unión Fenosa Contemporary Art Museum), Eugenio Granell Foundation, Santiago de Compostela, Casa de Vacas, Madrid, Kloster Asbach Museum, Asbach (Germany), Rey Juan Carlos I Center of New York University (USA) …

Jorge and Andrea have carried out several projects together such as “5,354 km”, “the aesthetics of disappearance”, the series “Displacement of Reading”, where we also find the work “An expanded song” among others.
