PROYECTOR es una plataforma destinada a la difusión de la imagen en movimiento haciendo énfasis en su carácter más experimental, contemporáneo y de compromiso. El Festival lleva desde el año 2008 en activo colaborando con casi 70 festivales y más de 100 espacios y ha contado con la participación de artistas de más de 60 países.
Cada año, acontecen en la ciudad de Madrid una veintena de eventos entre presentaciones, performances, encuentros y actividades -todos ellos de acceso gratuito y retransmitidos vía streaming–. El Festival ha crecido hasta convertirse en un espacio de intercambio cultural de referencia, entrelazando más de 25 espacios culturales en cada edición.
Entendemos la necesidad de una cultura diversa, libre y abierta, que ofrezca nuevas perspectivas. Así, cada año las piezas del Festival provienen de propuestas tanto seleccionadas por el jurado a través de una convocatoria pública, como de artistas invitados. Buscamos poner en valor las propuestas no “cinemanormativas”, entendiendo por esto las performances, videoinstalaciones y piezas site specific, que buscan la relación con el cuerpo, la escala y el espacio que las acoge; piezas que necesitan de un espectador que se involucre, que esté presente en la pieza para poder comprenderlas en su integridad.
Gracias a la Fundación Antonio Pérez, presentamos en el Museo de la Fotografía Fundación Antonio Pérez el 1º Premio Hertzog Da Silva otorgado durante la 16ª Edición del Festival PROYECTOR en 2023. Una pieza seleccionada por el jurado compuesto por Rosell Meseguer, Guillermo G. Peydró y Carlos T. Mori.
En el proyecto SOAP, los artistas Ting Tong Chang y Hsuan-Kang Tsai utilizan una instancia de noticias falsas que circularon durante la Primera Guerra Mundial, «Kadaververwertungsanstalt» (literalmente, Fábrica de utilización de cadáveres). Este fue un rumor difundido deliberadamente por las agencias de inteligencia británicas.
A través de los medios de comunicación, fabricaron y distribuyeron una historia sobre los alemanes que habían construido una fábrica secreta en el corazón de un bosque alemán donde disolvían cadáveres en jabón para uso militar cuando los recursos eran escasos. Junto con las ilustraciones, los informes inventados combinaron la teoría de la conspiración y el prejuicio ya existente hacia Alemania para facilitar un cambio en la opinión pública británica a favor de la guerra. Utilizando esta historia como base, Chang construyó su propia fábrica ficticia de fabricación de jabón, que también sirve como centro de producción de información, convirtiendo el jabón en una metáfora tangible de la información.
Este año, celebramos la 17ª Edición el Festival PROYECTOR entre el 11 y el 22 de septiembre de 2024, con más de 100 propuestas audiovisuales dentro de su recorrido oficial. Una edición en la que el artista Chang tomó parte como jurado.

PROYECTOR is a platform intended for the dissemination of the moving image, emphasizing its more experimental, contemporary and commitment character. The Festival has been active since 2008, collaborating with almost 70 festivals and more than 100 spaces and has had the participation of artists from more than 60 countries.
Every year, around twenty events take place in the city of Madrid, including presentations, performances, meetings and activities – all of them free to access and broadcast via streaming. The Festival has grown to become a reference space for cultural exchange, intertwining more than 25 cultural spaces in each edition.
We understand the need for a diverse, free and open culture that offers new perspectives. Thus, each year the Festival pieces come from proposals both selected by the jury through a public call, and from invited artists. We seek to value non-“cinematic-normative” proposals, meaning performances, video installations and site-specific pieces, which seek the relationship with the body, the scale and the space that hosts them; pieces that need a viewer to get involved, to be present in the piece to be able to understand them in their entirety.
Thanks to the Antonio Pérez Foundation, we display at the Museo de la Fotografía Fundación Antonio Pérez the 1st Hertzog Da Silva Prize awarded during the 16th Edition of the PROYECTOR Festival in 2023. In the SOAP project, artists Ting Tong Chang and Hsuan-Kang Tsai use an instance of fake news that circulated during World War I, «Kadaververwertungsanstalt» (literally, Corpse Disposal Factory). This was a rumor deliberately spread by British intelligence agencies.
Through the media, they fabricated and distributed a story about the Germans who had built a secret factory in the heart of a German forest where they dissolved corpses into soap for military use when resources were scarce. Along with the illustrations, the fabricated reports combined conspiracy theory and already existing prejudice towards Germany to facilitate a shift in British public opinion in favor of the war. Using this story as a basis, Chang built his own fictional soap-making factory, which also serves as a center of information production, turning soap into a tangible metaphor for information.
This year, we celebrate the 17th Edition of the PROYECTOR Festival between September 11 and 22, 2024, with more than 100 audiovisual proposals within its official route. An edition in which the artist Chang took part as a jury.
