Sergio Cabrera (esp)
Enero de 1994, graduado Bellas Artes por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Oct .2013, Feb. 2018). Actualmente cursando un máster en Artes Visuales y Multimedia impartido por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (Oct. 2018). Ha colaborado con diferentes entidades, colectivos y artistas para desarrollar diversos proyectos. Sergio trata de reivindicar espacios no considerados por el sistema y convertirlos en espacios de reunión y relación entre individuos.
Trabaja principalmente en el contexto de las periferias urbanas; los barrios obreros, marginales y humildes. Se pregunta por los límites de estos, por cómo se determinan y cómo se podrían determinar; llevándole irremediablemente a la experimentación física del espacio y de la idea de mapa.
Los elementos recurrentes del trabajo son los mapas, las líneas, el caminar, el territorio recorrido, el habitar, el tender, el movimiento social y la historia, con todas las conexiones, transversalidades y divergencias que han ido apareciendo entre ellos.
January 1994, graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (Oct. 2013, Feb. 2018). He is currently studying a master’s degree in Visual Arts and Multimedia taught by the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Oct. 2018). He has collaborated with different entities, collectives and artists to develop various projects. Sergio tries to claim spaces not considered by the system and turn them into spaces for meeting and relationships between individuals.
He works mainly in the context of the urban peripheries; the working class, marginal and humble neighborhoods. He wonders about their limits, how they are determined and how they could be determined; inevitably leading him to the physical experimentation of space and the idea of a map.
The recurring elements of the work are maps, lines, walking, the territory traveled, inhabiting, tending, social movement and history, with all the connections, cross-sections and divergences that have appeared between them.
