En junio de 2020 derribaron de un hondazo un dron de la Policía del Chaco en el Barrio Gran Toba, Argentina. La comunidad indígena Qom estaba siendo monitoreada militarmente con el argumento de controlar la expansión del covid-19.
Cien años atrás, antes de bombardear al pueblo Qom en la masacre de Napalpí, la fuerza aérea posaba para una foto que años más tarde sería utilizada como prueba contra el Estado en el juicio por crimen de lesa humanidad en mayo de 2022. A través del montaje se disponen en cercanía imágenes de tiempos disímiles acentuando la similitud entre mecanismos de operación en épocas distantes y con tecnologías diferentes. Frente a los microfascismos de hoy y siempre en la misma tierra, el hondazo es quizás un gesto de resistencia en clave decolonial contra la violencia sistemática y el despotismo de las imágenes.
In June 2020, a Chaco Police drone was shot down in the Barrio Gran Toba, Argentina. The Qom indigenous community was being monitored by the military with the argument of controlling the spread of covid-19.
One hundred years ago, before bombing the Qom people in the Napalpí massacre, the air force posed for a photo that years later would be used as evidence against the State in the trial for crimes against humanity in May 2022. Through the montage images from dissimilar times are arranged close together, accentuating the similarity between operating mechanisms in distant times and with different technologies. Faced with today’s microfascisms and always in the same land, the slingshot is perhaps a gesture of resistance in a decolonial key against systematic violence and the despotism of images.
