Juanma Carrillo (esp)

Nació en La Rioja, en 1978.

Director de cine y fotógrafo, Licenciado en realización audiovisual en Madrid y Paris.

Trabajó en la prensa musical francesa y sus fotografías se han publicado junto a las de artistas como Nan
Goldin, Sophie Calle o Wolfang Tillmans.

Su obra se mueve entre el cine de vanguardia y el videoarte, disciplina en la que ha sido premiado internacionalmente con obras como THIS LEAK, CUERPOS DESHONRADOS o NINETEEN FORTY ONE, proyectado en lugares como Irán, India, Rumania, Japón, Filipinas, China y museos como el MNCARS en Madrid, el Museo AMA de Washington o el Centro Barbican de Londres.

Además cortos como FUCKBUDDIES o CANÍBALES se han programado en de más de 75 festivales alrededor del mundo. Su obra aparece en varios documentales y publicaciones y desde el 2010, ha sido motivo de ciclos especiales en festivales de todo el mundo, New York, Buenos Aires, La Paz, o Turín, además de formar parte de jurados internacionales en otros tantos festivales de cine, e impartir varias master-class en universidades.

Recientemente varios de sus cortos han sido editados en DVD y VOD en mercados tan importantes como el americano, el francés el inglés.

Su pasión por la música le ha llevado al mundo del videoclip donde su trilogía para La Bien querida ha sido alabada y premiada tanto por la crítica como por el público, al igual que su obra BORN HEROES que elogió el mismísimo DAVID BOWIE.

Desde el 2012 es el director de imagen del festival internacional de cine FIRE!! de Barcelona, y desde el 2015 de la compañía teatral LA JOVEN COMPAÑÍA en Madrid, además desde el 2014 dirige la agencia audiovisual WESHOOT entre Madrid y New york.

He worked in the French music press and his photographs have been published alongside those of artists such as Nan
Goldin, Sophie Calle or Wolfang Tillmans.

His work moves between avant-garde cinema and video art, a discipline in which he has been awarded internationally with works such as THIS LEAK, DISHONORED BODIES or NINETEEN FORTY ONE, screened in places such as Iran, India, Romania, Japan, the Philippines, China and museums such as the MNCARS in Madrid, the AMA Museum in Washington or the Barbican Center in London.

In addition, shorts such as FUCKBUDDIES or CANÍBALES have been programmed in more than 75 festivals around the world. His work appears in several documentaries and publications and since 2010, he has been the subject of special cycles at festivals around the world, New York, Buenos Aires, La Paz, or Turin, as well as being part of international juries at many other festivals in cinema, and teach several master-classes in universities.

Recently several of his shorts have been released on DVD and VOD in such important markets as the American, French and English.

His passion for music has led him to the world of video clips where his trilogy for La Bien querida has been praised and awarded by both critics and the public, as has his work BORN HEROES, which was praised by DAVID BOWIE himself.

Since 2012 he has been the image director of the international film festival FIRE !! of Barcelona, and since 2015 of the theater company LA JOVEN COMPAÑÍA in Madrid, in addition, since 2014 he has directed the audiovisual agency WESHOOT between Madrid and New York.
