Un paisaje que se mueve (a través de las bobinas de una sala de cine vieja y vacía), un observador estático y una banda sonora. Este video corresponde a un período de investigación realizado a fines de la década de 1990, en el cual exploré de manera exhaustiva algunos temas relacionados con la fotografía, el cine, el video y el sonido. Cuestionar estos soportes diferentes pero complementarios, transformándolos a través del uso de otras prácticas artísticas y conservando su funcionamiento arcaico a través de sus propias características intrínsecas. De esta manera, superamos la objetividad que caracteriza a la fotografía, mediante un cuerpo de trabajo más amplio que derivó de ella, exploré la forma en que miramos y restablecimos mentalmente una imagen estática. La fotografía establece una fijación en un momento específico que no se borra físicamente mientras se traslada a otro momento. Este borrado solo ocurre o puede ocurrir en nuestro sistema perceptivo. Una característica humana contradictoria con la reproductibilidad sonoramente mecanizada de la fotografía. Entre sonido e imagen, esto se convirtió en una gran pregunta para mí.

A landscape that moves (through the reels found in an old and empty movie theatre), a static observer and a soundtrack. This video corresponds to a period of research carried out in the late 1990s, in which I exhaustively explored some issues related with photography, film, video and sound. Questioning these different but complementary supports, transforming them through the use of other artistic practices and preserving their archaic way of functioning through their own intrinsic characteristics. In this way, we got beyond the objectivity that characterizes photography, by a larger body of work which derived from it, I explored the way we look and mentally re-establish a static image. Photography establishes a fixation at a specific time that does not physically erase itself while moving into another moment. This erasing only occurs or may occur in our perceptual system. A human characteristic contradictory to the sonorously mechanized reproducibility of photography. Between sound and image, this became a great question to me.
