“Through the WasteLand” is a visual song that reflects the inner self and the journey of personal and collective memory. The tyrannic reminders of people and things that are left behind. The anarchal archiving of moments of ending (why are these memories everlasting?). As if we are on an ongoing track of continual detachment, alienation, emptiness, guilt, redemption. The video “Through The WasteLand” conveys atmospheric images and questions. It is a poetic reflection of the flow of transformation.
For Cancel is an artistic group formed by photographer / video artist & founder of FOCUS school of photography and video Takis Zerdevas, painter and visual artist Zoi Pirini, and film director / composer / video artist Makis Faros. Their first exhibition as a group was “Near the BaseLand” at Beton7 Gallery, Athens, in 2018. Since then, they have created projects like “Through the WasteLand”, exhibited in various exhibitions and festivals in Greece.
