Es una videocreación de tres minutos en la que el artista indaga sobre las necesidades humanas. En ella pretende reflejar, según sus propias palabras, “cómo la sociedad vive engañada por la organización interesada del mundo o por la desgracia de las catástrofes naturales». También quiere defender que el arte reduce el coeficiente de necesidad a «prácticamente cero». «Una vida sin miedo a la pérdida o con medios para integrarla en la fábula de nuestra existencia puede ser el arma más poderosa para combatir el desastre».
«No es medianoche pero el cielo se oscurece como si lo fuera, con la uniforme placa de nubes que precede a la llegada de un huracán. Un fenómeno que articula nuestra lógica de necesidad y nuestro orden de prioridades.
Atrapados por circunstancias en las que nos sabemos conscientemente traicionados, engañados por la organización interesada del mundo o por la desgracia de las catástrofes naturales, el arte reduce el coeficiente de necesidad a prácticamente cero. Una vida sin miedo a la pérdida o con medios para integrarla en la fábula de nuestra existencia puede ser el arma más poderosa para combatir el desastre».
La videocreación es la imagen de un huracán visto desde el espacio y que se completa con un potente sonido que se escucha incluso fuera de la sala y en el que ha colaborado Juan Manuel Artero. Ampudia comenta: «Mi idea ha sido poner al espectador en una situación de riesgo, porque eso hace que las personas piensen de otra manera. Me parecía que un huracán representa una de las situaciones límites en las que el hombre pierde el control».
La metáfora con la situación actual es obvia, en un momento de crisis que también se refleja en el arte. «Estoy convencido de, que si no se apoya a la cultura con dinero, este acabará en otro sitio y eso irá en detrimento de una sociedad que poco a poco se irá quedando sin ideas, porque la cultura está para eso, para aportar ideas».
Ha participado con esta obra en la Bienal de Arte de Panamá.

The video creation features the image of a hurricane seen from space and is accompanied by a powerful sound that can even be heard outside the hall, with Juan Manuel Artero also collaborating. Ampudia explains: «My idea was to put the audience in a situation of risk, because that makes people think differently. It seemed to me that a hurricane represents one of the extreme situations in which people lose control.»
The metaphor with the current situation is obvious, at a time of crisis that is also reflected in art. «I am convinced that if culture is not supported by money, it will end up somewhere else, and that will be detrimental to a society that is gradually being left without ideas, because that is what culture is for: to contribute ideas.»
With this work, he has participated in the Panama Art Biennial.
