Un nuevo color

“Entre el encima y el debajo” es la primera exposición individual de Daniela Libertad en NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ. La muestra, conformada por cuatro dibujos de gran formato, un video y dos esculturas, plantea diversas reflexiones que van desde cómo Libertad construye sus imágenes en el cruce entre el dibujo y el tejido hasta la posibilidad de encontrarse con un nuevo color.
El papel parece ser un material importante dentro de esta constelación de piezas; lo encontramos dibujado, tejido, desbordado, resistiendo y cediendo ante la relación con otros dos materiales: el hilo y el metal.
Otro elemento también importante en la exposición es la presencia del color, en las piezas “Dibujo tejido 4, 5, 6 y 7” (2021) – resulta evidente su uso, es el color el que da cuerpo a las formas dibujadas y es lo que “se mezcla” al tejer los dibujos. En el caso del video “Un nuevo color” (2020), éste existe como recuerdo y posibilidad, la narración que hace la artista del encuentro con un nuevo color nos deja ver que el único lugar posible para su existencia es el espacio de la palabra.
“Entre el encima y el debajo” is Daniela Libertad’s first solo exhibition at NF/ NIEVES FERNÁNDEZ. The show, made up of four large-format drawings, a video and two sculptures, raises various reflections that range from how Libertad constructs her images at the crossroads between the drawing and weaving until the possibility of meeting a new color.
Paper seems to be an important material within this constellation of pieces; we find it drawn, woven, overflowing, resisting and yielding to the relationship with two other materials: thread and metal.
Another important element in the exhibition is the presence of color, in the pieces «Dibujo tejido 4, 5, 6 and 7» (2021) – its use is evident, it is color that gives body to the shapes drawn and is what that «mixes» when weaving the drawings. In the case of the video “Un nuevo color” (2020), color exists as a memory and possibility, the narration of the artist on the encounter with a new
