CRISTOBAL ESPINOSA FASOLA (ch)
1990. En Santiago de Chile, tras estudiar comunicación audiovisual y escritura de guiones, trabaja en distintas áreas del audiovisual, pero rápido cambia de dirección para establecer particularmente con la cámara de vídeo una relación más intuitiva que no repara en tecnicismos, sustentándose de su entorno inmediato donde tiene cabida la improvisación.
Así, de manera más bien impulsiva, comienza a trabajar en vídeos en primera persona, bien evidenciando que hay alguien ahí operando la cámara, con la palabra dicha o escrita, en ocasiones incluyendo su propia imagen. Esto lo llevó a conectar especialmente con la tecnología de vídeo que tenía como soporte una cinta magnética, cámaras versátiles que permiten el montaje de la cámara; reencontrándose así con cámaras parecidas a las que por primera vez utilizó.
Colaboró en sus inicios con Amalgama Lab, productora de video experimental, especializada en trabajo con cintas y exhibiendo en muestras colectivas en Santiago de Chile. En 2019 en Madrid cursa Máster Lav, aprovechando nuevas materialidades y formas. Aparece el fílmico, la creación de piezas instalativas, profundizando en temas que ya se venían estableciendo como una constante: el retrato, la memoria, los recuerdos… participando también en festivales y muestras colectivas.
Actualmente, vive en Madrid y colabora con la plataforma INVE. En paralelo se encuentra en pleno rodaje de un largometraje performativo que produce junto con PLAGADESEO, a la vez que continúa con sus proyectos personales.

In Santiago de Chile, after studying audiovisual communication and script writing, he works in different areas of audiovisual, but quickly changes direction to establish, particularly with the video camera, a more intuitive relationship that does not spare technicalities, relying on his immediate environment where improvisation has a place.
Thus, rather impulsively, he begins to work on first-person videos, either showing that there is someone there operating the camera, with the spoken or written word, sometimes including his own image. This led him to connect especially with video technology that had magnetic tape as a support, versatile cameras that allow camera mounting; thus reuniting with cameras similar to the ones he used for the first time.
He initially collaborated with Amalgama Lab, an experimental video producer, specialized in working with tapes and exhibiting in group exhibitions in Santiago, Chile. In 2019 in Madrid he is taking the Lav Master’s Degree, taking advantage of new materialities and forms. The film appears, the creation of installation pieces, delving into themes that had already been established as a constant: portraiture, memory, memories… also participating in festivals and group exhibitions.
Currently, he lives in Madrid and collaborates with the INVE platform. In parallel, he is in the middle of filming a performative feature film that he produces together with PLAGADESEO, while continuing with his personal projects.
