Timeline’ está ambientado en un parque en un nuevo barrio de edificios de varios pisos de Bruselas. La cámara observa el parque desde un punto de vista fijo. Se mueve lentamente de izquierda a derecha, a veces también entrecortadamente. De repente notamos cambios. Los saltos de tiempo permiten que las diferentes estaciones se sucedan. Una estrecha cinta roja brillante, que se coloca entre postes de metal, revolotea firmemente en el viento como un tema común, que se extiende por todo el escenario.
El movimiento de cámara aparentemente involuntario resume un período de tiempo mayor, como si solo hubiera una toma en curso. La implicación de un proceso de edición que ha venido teniendo lugar, está tan encubierta como revelada. La cámara está observando a lo largo de una línea de tiempo, que atraviesa el parque como un respiro; las historias no se desarrollan en una sucesión, sino que más bien se asemejan a un recuerdo, que las recoge.
Timeline’ is set in a park in a new multistoried building quarter of Brussels. The camera observes the park from a fixed point of view. It pans slowly from left to right, sometimes also jerkily. Suddenly we notice changes. Time leaps let different seasons follow each other. A narrow red shining ribbon, which is put up between metal posts, flutters steadfastly in the wind like a common theme, that streches out through the whole scenery.
The seemingly unintentional camera movement summarizes a larger time period, as if there was only one ongoing take. The involvement of an editing process that has been taking place, is just as covered as revealed. The camera is observing along a timeline, which traverses the park like a breathing; stories don’t unfold in a succession, but resemble rather a memory, that collects them.
