Carolee Schneemann (ame)

Carolee Schneemann (Fox Chase, Pensilvania, 12 de octubre de 1939-6 de marzo de 2019)1​ fue una artista visual estadounidense especializada en performance, conocida por sus discursos sobre el cuerpo, la sexualidad y de género.

Recibió un B.A. de la Bard College y un M.F.A de la Universidad de Illinois. Su obra se caracterizó principalmente por la investigación de las tradiciones visuales, los tabúes, y el cuerpo del individuo en relación a las entidades sociales. Sus obras se han exhibido en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Los Ángeles, el Museo de Arte Moderno de Nueva York, y el London National Film Theatre. Schneemann impartió clases en varias universidades, incluyendo el California Institute of the Arts, la School of the Art Institute of Chicago, la Hunter College y la Universidad Rutgers, donde fue la primera profesora de arte contratada. She received a B.A. from Bard College and an M.F.A from the University of Illinois. Her work was characterized mainly by the investigation of visual traditions, taboos, and the body of the individual in relation to social entities. Her works have been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the London National Film Theater. Schneemann taught at various universities, including the California Institute of the Arts, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hunter College, and Rutgers University, where she was the first art professor to hire. In addition, he published widely, producing works, such as Cézanne, She Was a Great Painter «Cézanne, was a great painter» (1976) and More than Meat Joy: Performance Works and Selected Writings «More than Meat Joy: Performance Works and Writings selected «(1997).
