Ana Amado
Fotógrafa, arquitecta y artista visual.
Máster en Fotografía por la Escuela Lens de Artes Visuales (Madrid), Máster en Arte, Museología y Crítica Contemporáneas por la USC (Santiago de Compostela), Posgrado en Ilustración Creativa por la Escuela EINA (Barcelona), y arquitecta por la ETSAC de arquitectura (Universidad de A Coruña).
Actualmente compagina su labor como fotógrafa con la docencia de la fotografía en escuelas de artes visuales madrileñas y Universidades como la de Alcalá de Henares, el Hamilton College o la Universidad de Tokio, entre otras.
Su trabajo personal explora las interconexiones entre las diversas manifestaciones artísticas, buscando siempre el acercamiento del arte contemporáneo a la sociedad. En su obra reciente prima la fotografía con contenido social donde se sirve de la arquitectura como marco para hablar de temas como la crisis económica o la revalorización de la arquitectura moderna en España.
Su trabajo ha sido premiado y expuesto nacional e internacionalmente en la Bienal de Venecia 2016 y 2018, PhotoLondon, los Sony World Photography Awards, la XIV Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, PhotoEspaña17, the Royal Academy of Arts de Londres, el International Festival Eme3 y Museo Picasso, el Premio Internacional «Obra Abierta» o la IV Feria Viphoto, entre otros.

She holds an MA in Photography from the Lens School of Visual Arts (Madrid), a Postgraduate Degree in Creative Illustration from the EINA School of Art, (Barcelona), and a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Art, Museology and Criticism from the Santiago de Compostela University. as well as in Architecture from the School of Architecture (University of A Coruña).
Currently, she combines her work as a photographer with teaching photography in Madrid. Her work explores the interconnections between various artistic manifestations, always seeking contemporary art’s approach to society. In her recent work, photography with social content predominates, where she uses architecture as a framework to discuss topics such as the economic crisis or the revaluation of modern architecture in Spain.
Her work has been awarded internationally and exhibited at the Venice Biennale (Spanish Pavillion, Golden Lion 2016 and 2018), Photo London 2018, the Sony World Photography Awards, PhotoEspaña2017 (Madrid),), at the Royal Academy of Arts (London), Tent Gallery (Edimburgh), the International Festival Eme3 and Picasso Museum (Barcelona), the International Arts Prize «Obra Abierta 2016» (Plasencia), among others.
