Vive y trabaja entre la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico y Londres. Su trabajo en diverso medios ha reflejado el campo extendido de la pintura dentro de la historia del arte y su embrollo con la imagen en movimiento. En piezas anteriores ilustra las idiosincrasias de las multitudes, el caos y formas aberrantes dentro del urbanismo. La espiral es una forma recurrente como forma de pensar; trabajando como una doble h\u00e9lice constela relaciones entre la ciudad, el cuerpo, la arqueolog\u00eda, la tragicomedia y la naturaleza. Ella est\u00e1 interesada en los fragmentos que no se suman o historias que no tienen ni principio ni fin, adem\u00e1s de producciones atr\u00e1s del escenario que aluden a la farsa pol\u00edtica. En gran parte su trabajo destruye cualquier significado racional de producci\u00f3n, como una manera de pensar en formas contingentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en numerosas instituciones incluyendo PS1 y MOMA, Nueva York; Hammer Museum, Los \u00c1ngeles; Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool y Tate Modern, Londres; Hamburger Bahnhof, Berl\u00edn; Museo Tamayo y MUCA Campus UNAM, Ciudad de M\u00e9xico; Museo Amparo, Puebla; The Modern, Fort Worth, SITE Santa Fe Bienal, Santa Fe. En 2011 represent\u00f3 a M\u00e9xico en la 54th Bienal de Venecia. Una exhibici\u00f3n panor\u00e1mica de su trabajo fue mostrada en Milton Keynes Gallery, Milton Keynes, en 2014 viajando al CAC, Vilnius y Museum Bijmans, Rotterdam. En 2018 fue incluida en la Bienna de Liverpool. Melanie Smith: Farsa y Artificio es presentada en MACBA, Museu d\u00b4 Art Contemporani de Barcelona en 2018 y en 2019 viajar\u00e1 al MUAC, Museo Universitario de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo, UNAM, Ciudad de M\u00e9xico y Museo Amparo, Puebla, M\u00e9xico.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Melanie Smith naci\u00f3 en Inglaterra en 1965.
