{"id":11129,"date":"2025-07-28T14:23:32","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T12:23:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/proyector.info\/profile\/carlos-gomes\/"},"modified":"2025-07-28T14:26:50","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T12:26:50","slug":"carlos-gomes","status":"publish","type":"person","link":"https:\/\/proyector.info\/en\/profile\/carlos-gomes\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlos Gomes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Born in Barreiro, Portugal, 1969.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Director, producer and visual artist.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Architect from Lisbon University in 1995 and Master of Arts in Scenography, Central Saint Martin\u2019s College in London 2003, where he presented his first video installation \u201cTHIRD NATURE\u201d following his theses with the same title.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In 2009 directed his first film: \u201cPeople From The House \u2013 Monitoring an Architectural Work\u201d, premiered at the festival DocLisboa 2009.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In 2012 directed \u00abSYRIA\u00bb premiered on Fuso Festival, Lisbon, a hybrid video art-documental piece, building the violence of the war based on the crossed images between a peaceful manifestation of Syrian emigrants in Athens-Greece and internet footage of the first year of the conflict in Syria.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In 2013 directed 5 films about 5 works of the portuguese architectural studio ARX.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Between 2011 and 2014 co directed \u201cUMA-Atlantic Ultra Marathon\u201d, a film and a video installation that have been presented around the world: Temps d\u2019Images Festival in Lisbon 2011; Athens Video Art Festival in 2012; Proyector International Video Art Festival in Madrid and Milan 2012; FIVAC Camaguey-Cuba 2013; Gilberto Alzate Avenda\u00f1o Foundation in Bogot\u00e1 2014; Centro ExTeresa Arte Actual in M\u00e9xico DF 2014; Video Bardo Festival, at the Spanish Cultural Centre in Buenos Aires 2014; San Ignacio de Loyola University in Cusco and Telef\u00f3nica Foundation in Lima 2014.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>In 2014 he conceived the musical project \u201cAl Mu\u2019tamid, The Poet King of the Al Andalus\u201d, that is successfully being presented in many world stages such as Teatro S\u00e3o Luiz in Lisbon, Teatro Bellas Artes en Madrid, IMA in Paris, and Sala S\u00e3o Paulo, in S\u00e3o Paulo-Brazil, considered one of the ten best concert halls in the all world. The musical will be followed by the documentary \u00abThe Poet King\u00bbin 2018.
