\u201cHel City\u201d is a piece created from the 70\u2019s Super 8 anonymous materials, consisting of films made by travellers and tourists from all around the world. The title is inspired both by the name of the scientist Rotman\u2019s wife (creator of the man-like robot in \u201cMetropolis\u201d) and the goddess of the underworld in Nordic culture. Both of them with a gorgeous and a cruel side. Through the narrative of a woman called Hel, the change of paradigms due to the demographic explosion in global cities and cultures is addressed. Past, present and future become the axis, the approach and the questions towards this piece in which cities are observed in order to show the way ahead, under the perspective and integrating the oriental conceptions about the sense of time. \u201cHel City\u201d is the portrait of an universal Babel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
